Rebel with a Cause

There are two kinds of rebels I've seen in this life
Those who cause the problems, and those who make the wrong right
The first have no direction, and don't know what they're fighting for
The second a firm foundation, because they're built upon the Lord.

I am a rebel with a cause; I will defend God's laws.
When the world can't understand why I want to be a better man.
Helping others when they fall, I want to heed God's call
That is what I'll be; it means that much to me, I'm a rebel with a cause.

 In this world so many people, are tossed like reeds in the wind.
What they're missing is an anchor, something to believe in.
Well, I've made my decision; I know who I'm fighting for,
I've built a firm foundation, and it's built upon the Lord

Let me tell you about my captain, He lived a long time ago
He walked the road less traveled; He was hated why I do not know
He brought a higher law with him, and he taught us how to pray,
He loved us so he told us; He was the life, the truth, the way.

He cleansed the leper man,
On the Sabbath healed a withered hand.
The sinners were his friends.
He served them to the better end. to the end.

James Dean may have been a rebel without a cause, but what this world needs are rebels with a cause! These days to rebel against the establishment is to have some standards, and stick with them. Be a rebel by being different in a good way. Stand for something, and don't just go with the flow.
