Nadja's Song
By: Tamar Pedersen

A ray of light breaks through the clouds
Is it the day I have often dreamed about
When heavens lamb comes down to earth again
My king his name I'll sing

I pray I'll live to see the day
When he descends among the sons of men
To stem the tide, with angels at his side
Once lowly bowed, now standing in the clouds

Chorus:
The lamb and the lion shall lie down
The powers of darkness will be bound
Instead of bending towards the sun
The flowers will bow before the Son, of God

The streams won't be held back by force
They'll crawl towards him who set them in their course
The stars reply with new wonders in the sky
At rest, the heavens blessed

Chorus modified:
The rocks break forth in song
They've held their silence for so long
All creations praise his name,
Shouldn't we all do the same?

With him the first will be the last
Instead of kings he'll have children on his lap
The graves break forth, I'll see my loved ones all once more
He died for me, he set us free

When I finally get the chance
To feel the prints of the nails in his hands
Words can't describe
To see his face - feel his embrace

Oh I can't wait, for that day

A ray of light breaks through the clouds.

Nadja's Song - About

It is a little confusing to explain why this song is called "Nadja's Song", but if you stick with me, I will try to shed some light on the subject.

Instead of reading this, you should probably start by reading the story behind the song "In That Day". "In that Day", was written almost a year after "Nadja's Song", but the same experience provided the inspiration for both.

In the song, "In That Day", we share an experience we had with Nadja, where she thought she had missed the Second Coming of Christ.

At the end of a rainstorm, my wife pointed to the rays of light coming through the clouds, and told our children that this is what it might look like when Christ comes again. Nadja thought that Christ was actually coming. And when the sun had set, she thought she had missed Christ.

It got me imagining how real things must have appeared to our daughter, and that some day Christ really will be coming again. I thought about how that day might be, and tried to capture the whole thing in a song. Since Nadja inspired the song, we named it after her.

A year later we wrote "In That Day", which told of the experience we had with Nadja, so "In That Day" is the sequel to "Nadja's Song". We could have called it "Nadja's Song II", but that would have lacked originality.

Christ will come again. Get ready!
